Jaipur aka the pink city is the melting pot of India's tradition and culture. The perfect fusion of the old traditions and modern ideologies,  this pink city entices people from across the globe. Being the capital city of the Royal state of Rajasthan, Jaipur is scattered with a plethora of sites and hot spots for a Rajasthan Royals fan, you would but love to explore the authentic city.  

Wearing the famous pink jersey and strolling through the streets of the city, you are bound to embrace the elegance of the place. Where the traditional part of the city is imbibed with glorious forts and majestic tombs, the newer version of the city sets the atmosphere of love and charm with its impeccable architecture.  Jaipur not only houses the magnificent World Heritage Sites at Jantar Mantar and Hawa Mahal, but also alluring tombs, temples, forts, and palaces.

The majestic edifice is located right in the centre of the city.  Surrounded by bustling city life, the monument boasts of rich heritage and the rich culture of days gone by.  A magnificent structure having a mesh of small windows that enables cool air to flow in and out of the place, Hawa Mahal has been uniquely crafted in red and pink stone.  Be it the glorious architecture or the embellished Jharokas, the place is no doubt a must visit.

No no, do not mess with the city name.  Pink city is primarily referred to as the old walled city.  The place has a wall six meters high, a thickness of three meters that draws a boundary for many of the structures that reside within it.  You can enter the city via seven different gates entitled Suraj Pol, Chand Pol, Ajmeri Gate, Sanganeri Gate, New Gate, Samrat Gate, Ghat Gate, and Zorawar Singh Gate. All blanketed in pink colour pastels,  the place voices the glory of ancient India, attracting the attention of visitors from across the globe.

Situated amidst the pink city, rising high on the Aravalli Hills, is another striking monument. The Amer Fort has been spectacularly designed with maze-like passages,  verdant shades of traditional gateways and serpentine staircases. The fort is tailored in yellow and pink sandstone casting essence of royal stay. The fort is geographically huge and you need to spare a minimum of three hours if you want to stroll across the entire fort, however, it’s worth it for the amazing experience.

If art finds a place in your heart, then you are in the right city.  The Albert Hall Museum in Jaipur, though one of the oldest museums, is a popular place to visit. The museum is home to a range of works, from paintings to ivory,  carpets to stone and metal sculptures. A collection of artefacts from around 16 galleries worldwide add to the beauty of the place. Antiques and artefacts hail in the top display at the museum. And if you plan to visit the place after dawn,  you can catch sight of one of the most beautiful facades as the museum dazzles in the light as the sky grows dark. Yellow lights enhance the luminous appearance and you will be left nothing but stunned.

While you might be accustomed to the fact that the city is all about its forts,  monuments, and palaces, the Abhaneri step well is something different. Popularly known as the Chand Baori Step Well, it is situated in Abhaneri, adjacent to Jaipur. The Well spans at the height of nearby stories with a total of 3500 steps leading you down to approximately 100 feet. So, another adventure to add to your Jaipur tour.

Lifestyle & Cuisine

The pink city welcomes you with excellent cuisine to satisfy your food cravings. From the dal bari churma to the much popular gatte ki sabzi, Jaipur leaves its guests with a finger licking food experience.  Moreish dishes such as Bajre Ki Roti and gujja, alone, is reason enough to visit the city.

Also, the vibrant shopping places in Jaipur are a welcome addition. Be it traditional wear or regional dresses, precious stones or baubles, Johari Bazar Jaipur, is the city's pride.  Millions of visitors flock the marketplace every year to see and buy it's wearing. The place has a different aura and once you are there,  you cannot be sway off on the urge to shop!!

So,  what's on your mind?  Still debating? Well,  I could not hang on anymore. First of all, there are the RR matches and second, there is so much to see in this beautiful pink city.  All I am planning to do now is buy that pink Jersey, put it on and fly off to the pink city.
