The ICC World Cup T20, hosted in India is the first ICC tournament to be played in over two years and the first World Cup T20 to be played since 2016 - 5 years ago!
West Indies are the current World T20 Champions after beating England in the Final at the Eden Gardens. 'Carlos Braithwaite... remember the name!' was the famous words spoken after he hit 4 sixes in a row to clinch the cup.
This year, the hosts India will be looking to win the T20 World Cup for the first time since the inaugural tournament back in 2007. The Bharat Army will be there in huge numbers to support the men in blue and we want you to join us.
In April 2020, the International Cricket Council (ICC) confirmed that despite the COVID-19 pandemic, the tournament will still go ahead as per the initial planning. The format of the 2021 ICC Men's T20 World Cup will remain the same as 2020, and all the teams who qualified for the 2020 event will now participate in this edition in India. Here is the list of the teams that have already qualified for ICC T20 Cricket World Cup India 2021:
🇮🇳 INDIA 🇵🇰 PAKISTAN 🇦🇺 AUSTRALIA 🇬🇧 ENGLAND 🇿🇦 SOUTH AFRICA 🇳🇿 NEW ZEALAND WEST INDIES 🇦🇫 AFGHANISTAN 🇱🇰 SRI LANKA 🇧🇩 BANGLADESH 🇳🇱 NETHERLANDS 🇵🇬 PAPUA NEW GUINEA 🇮🇪 IRELAND 🇳🇦 NAMIBIA 🏴 SCOTLAND 🇴🇲 OMAN
With a major part of cricketing action cancelled last year due to Covid-19, Indian cricket fans will be relishing 2021. Especially, after the historic triumph in the Border-Gavaskar series in Australia!
However, the biggest tournament of 2021 in world cricket is going to be World Cup T20 held in India in October-November. Team India has been faltering in the last stages of major ICC events since we won the ICC Champions Trophy 2013. It is time for Virat Kohli and the company to break the jinx and what better opportunity to do that than at home this year during Diwali!
