India Tour of Australia

The Indian Team have arrived in Australia and are ready to take on the challenge down under. Following the recent success at the Asia Cup as well as a dominating home series against Windies, the current Indian Team seems to be prepared to take on the Aussies.

On the other hand, the Aussies are going through a rough patch with the overseas loss against Pakistan and the home series loss against the Proteas. Although, irrespective of the team composition and past results, it is always difficult to beat a team overseas. So, what can we expect from the upcoming India – Australia series?

When we talk about an India – Australia series, the first word that comes to our mind is sledging. Don’t we all love the on-field banter and the competitiveness that both of these sides bring in to the game! There’s always one instance in a series involving these two that heats up this battle and we can’t wait to witness another competitive series. Virat Kohli said during the press conference before leaving for the Australian tour that he doesn’t want to bring the banter into the game but when there’s one introduced by the opponents, Team India surely are going to give it back.

Also, Australia has always been a happy hunting place for our beloved skipper Virat Kohli to score tons. The wickets in Australia are really quick and great for batting which matches his skills and ability to score big.

India have been brilliant in the limited over formats and will be aiming to capitalize in both ODI and T20 series. The major challenge will be beating Australia in the test series. The skipper mentioned that individual batting performances will be important, with the Indian bowlers now having the ability to pick up 20 wickets each test. India have a talented batting line-up and all eyes will be on young Prithvi Shaw as to how will he tackle the Aussie bowling line-up on bouncy tracks.

Ultimately, this series will be very crucial from the World Cup point of view. With limited ODI matches left now, India will have to make sure to count every single one of them. As Ravi Shastri said, “No more chopping and changing till World Cup.” This is now a well-established side with someone like Ambati Rayudu cementing the no. 4 spot.

Do let us know below your thoughts and expectations for the series!
