McGrath heaps praise on Kohli's humility

Legendary Australian fast bowler has heaped praise on Indian captain Virat Kohli's gesture of supporting the Pink Test. Kohli came out wearing pink grip on his bat, pink sticker and a bit of pink color on his gloves during the first day of the Sydney Test.

The gesture won the hearts of fans and former cricketers across the globe, and especially Glenn McGrath, as the best batsman in the world lent his support for the former Aussie cricketer's foundation that caters to spread awareness on Breast cancer.

Speaking to The Hindu, McGrath stated: "The fact that Virat came out the other day, with pink on his gloves, the pads, the bat, the grip, was a very special and an incredible gesture. I love the way Virat plays the game, he is aggressive. When he walks off the field, he is a good human being, a really good person.”

The 48-year-old also met Kohli on the field during the 4th Test and the former Australian heaped praise on the Indian.

“He’s been very friendly, very respectful. A confident man on and off the field. He has led the team passionately and motivated his men so well in this series,” said McGrath who also went on to hail Kohli as the best batsman in the world. “To me, he is the best batsman in the world. He shows his quality when he in the middle. Great technique, great temperament. When he gets a loose delivery, he puts it away. Never misses out. That’s the sign of a great batsman.”

On Comparisons with Sachin Tendulkar-

McGrath, who had some epic duels with` Sachin during his magnanimous 14-year career went into the comparisons between the former Indian legend and Virat Kohli, suggesting while Sachin was a reserved and soft-spoken person, Virat is a lot more confident and aggressive on the field.

Apart from his infectious consistency with the bat and heartwarming gestures on the filed, Virat Kohli went to add another feather in his cap by becoming the first ever Asian captain to register a Test series win Down Under.
