A dominant display from Team India helped them take an unassailable 3-0 lead in the 5-match series against the Black Caps.
Like the 1st ODI, the win was set up by India's bowlers, who restricted the hosts to an underwhelming 243 in the first innings. Mohammad Shami spearheaded the bowling unit with a three-wicket haul while Hardik Pandya made his return to International cricket with figures of 2-45.
The chase was spearheaded by a sublime 113-run stand between Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli while Dinesh Karthik  and Ambati Rayudu  provided the finishing touch with an unbeaten 77-run stand for the fourth wicket.

2nd- A seven-wicket win gave India an unassailable 3-0 lead in the 5-match series. This is India's second series win in New Zealand; the first of which came exactly ten years ago in 2009 where the MS Dhoni-led side beat the Black Caps 3-1.

2012- Last time New Zealand lost each of their first three ODIs of a home series. It happened against South Africa.
215- Rohit Sharma struck his 215th six during his innings of 62 in the third ODI. The opener is now equal with MS Dhoni for the most number of 6s hit by an Indian batsman in ODIs. Sharma also completed 10,000 List-A runs during the knock.

16- Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma stitched a 113-run stand in the third ODI to help India claim a seven-wicket win. This was their 16th 100-plus opening stand, equalling with the dynamic opening pair of Gilchrist and Hayden.
100- Kuldeep and Chahal completed 100 wickets in tandem. The duo has played in 26 ODIs together and has claimed 101 wickets at a combined S/R of 27.36.
